CORRECTIONS POLICY

When we get one wrong

We read thousands of values from documents that were never designed to be read by machines. Occasionally we will publish one incorrectly. Here is exactly what happens when we do.

The correction is published, not hidden

The corrected value is issued as a new record with a dated correction note. The incorrect record stays in the archive, marked superseded, so the history never quietly changes. If you pulled a value on a given date, you can always see what Wharfa said on that date, and when and why it changed.

Affected subscribers are told

If a corrected value previously triggered an alert, everyone who received that alert receives the correction the same day it's issued.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the value, the page, and, if you have it, the source document you believe contradicts us. We acknowledge within one business day, and either correct with a public note or explain, with the capture, why we're standing by the figure. Either way you get an answer in writing.

What we don't correct

Publisher errors. If a carrier's own schedule contains a mistake, we report what was published and note the anomaly; we don't silently "fix" source documents. The record is of what was published, because that's what disputes turn on.
