Six published changes this month, all from one operator on one day. Hutchison Ports lifted its entire Brisbane landside sheet on 20 April — access charges, the booking fee and three ancillaries together — and brought a Sydney schedule into force the same day.
The month in one line
When a terminal moves one charge you notice. When it moves six at once, the individual percentages look modest and the combined effect on a container does not. Nothing else on the register moved in April.
What changed
All effective 20 April 2026, at Hutchison Ports Brisbane:
- Terminal access charge (import): $213.78 → $232.79 per container. +8.9%.
- Terminal access charge (export): $196.58 → $210.48 per container. +7.1%.
- VBS booking fee: $49.50 → $54.50. +10.1%.
- Appointment no-show: $185.00 → $200.00. +8.1%.
- Sideloader fee: $83.00 → $89.00. +7.2%.
- Long vehicle surcharge: $50.00 → $55.00. +10.0%.
Hutchison's Sydney schedule took effect on the same date. We hold the current Sydney figures — terminal access $233.36 import and $209.64 export, booking fee $51.20, storage from $185 a day — but we did not capture the prior Sydney sheet, so we are not quoting a percentage we cannot evidence.
What it means for the desk
The ancillaries are where this bites unevenly. A no-show at $200 and a sideloader lift at $89 only appear on the invoices of jobs that incurred them, so the month-on-month average hides them. If you run sideloader work through Brisbane, your effective increase is well above the 8.9% headline.
