One movement in the January round, and it was a large one. DP World lifted the Sydney terminal access charge 14.2%, effective 1 January. Nothing else on the register moved with it.
The month in one line
A single published change, at a single terminal, worth roughly $28 a container. The January round is where most annual landside pricing lands, so a quiet month elsewhere is worth as much to know as a busy one.
What changed
- DP World Sydney terminal access charge: $197.47 → $225.51 per container (eff 1 Jan). A rise of $28.04, or 14.2%.
What it means for the desk
On 40 import containers a month through Port Botany, that single line adds about $1,120 a month to cartage before anything else moves. It is a published figure, not a negotiated one: the same number applies to everyone who has not agreed otherwise, which is what makes it checkable against your invoice.
If your rates were agreed before January, this is the first place to look for the gap.
